The University of Maine Cooperative Extension and the University of Maine at Presque Isle College of Arts and Sciences invite applications for a full-time, fiscal-year, continuing contract eligible faculty appointment as Assistant Extension Professor and Assistant Professor of Sustainable Agriculture, effective September 1, 2015. This position is an 80% Extension appointment through the University of Maine (UMaine) and a 20% teaching appointment through the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI). The successful candidate will work out of the Aroostook County Extension Office (UMaine) in Presque Isle, Maine with classroom instruction occurring on the UMPI campus. The faculty member in this position will develop and conduct educational outreach and applied research with an emphasis on Aroostook County, Maine; work with other UMaine faculty, county Executive Committee members, advisory boards and volunteers to offer off-campus programs addressing the educational needs of the Maine Potato Industry and related agricultural industries; and teach credit hour courses and offer limited student advising within the UMPI Sustainable Agriculture Concentration.
