Do you know someone who has made an extraordinary impact on the potato industry and The Potato Association of America? It’s time to recognize their dedication with the highest honor the PAA bestows — Honorary Life Membership (HLM)!

Each year at the PAA Annual Meeting, we honor remarkable individuals whose contributions have helped shape the potato industry and/or the PAA. This prestigious award is a highlight of the award banquet, where new HLMs are inducted and celebrated for their outstanding achievements.

Help us recognize those who have gone above and beyond—submit your nominations today!

Nominations for the 2025 Honorary Life Memberships are accepted through April 24, 2025.

Eligibility

  • Nominated individuals should have made significant contributions to the potato industry and/or the PAA through activities related to research, extension, education, production, processing, marketing, utilization, or any other appropriate facet of the potato industry.
  • Nominees are not required to be current PAA members.

Honor Bestowed

  • Up to six new PAA Honorary Life Members are inducted annually.
  • Honorary Life Membership status allows for gratis PAA membership for life.
  • Complimentary PAA award banquet ticket to HLM inductee and their guest the year awarded.

Nominator Requirements

  • Only current PAA members may submit nominations for Honorary Life Membership. (Nominations from current HLM Committee members are not accepted).
  • Nominators should not notify the nominee about the HLM nomination until the selection procedures by the HLM Award committee are completed.

Nomination Package Requirements

In addition to completing the electronic nomination form, the following items are to be uploaded as pdf files.

  • Nomination Letter (4 Pages Maximum).
    • Letter to describe the nominee’s career highlights, including significant contributions to the potato industry and/or the PAA through activities related to research, extension, education, production, processing, marketing, utilization, or any other appropriate facet of the potato industry.
  • Primary Nominatro Letter of Support, Plus Four Letters of Support From Current PAA Members
    • All 5 letters should be saved to 1 pdf file
